India: Bollywood actress arrested for running high profile sex racket in Mumbai

A prostitution racket within the film industry has been uncovered by Unit 11 of the Mumbai Crime Branch, resulting in the arrest of 30-year-old Aarti Mittal, a casting director and actress allegedly involved in the operation.

According to reports, Aarti targeted models during various projects and offered them work for good money, with two models having been rescued from the site of the operation. When posing as a customer, a police officer caught Aarti red-handed, with the actress demanding Rs. 60,000 to provide two prostitutes for his friends. Aarti had also reportedly posted on social media that she was working on a project with actor R Madhavan. In addition to working in television shows, including 'Apnapan,' Aarti has been implicated in managing the sex racket.  The show also stars Rajshree Thakur. The rescued girls claimed that Mittal had lured them with a promise to pay Rs 15,000 for their “assignments”, and assured them of high income to indulge in the sex trade with her. They have been sent to a rehab centre pending further investigations.

Apart from these, Aarti has also featured in ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’, ‘Dharampatni’, ‘Sanak: Ek Junoon’, among others. Aarti Mittal was equally famous on social media. She almost has 103k followers and is quite active on Instagram. Her Insta bio reads, states she is the owner of @trademarkedplantasticfilms, seemingly her casting company. On her Instagram, she has shared photos with actors like Hiten Tejwani, Rohit Roy, Manav Gohil, Aman Verma, among others.
