No UAE visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens: Ambassador

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has not imposed a ban on visa for Pakistani citizens hailing from any city as it accords high values to its relations with Islamabad, a top diplomat says. Consul General of the UAE Ateeq Al Remeithi at a ceremony cleared the air that the Emirates has not placed any sort of restrictions on UAE visa for Pakistan citizens. While inaugurating the Emirate's biggest visa centre in Asia in Karachi last week, he said the Emirates was granting UAE visa to the residents of Pakistani cities without any discrimination. "The news circulating on social media platforms was fake," Al Remeithi said. He lamented that rumours were making rounds on social media every now and then, claiming a ban on some Pakistani residents. UAE: First gaming resort to generate annual cash flow of $600 million

The United Arab Emirates' first gaming resort of Wynn Al Marjan Island being built at the cost of $3.9 billion is expected to generate an annual cash flow of $400 million to $600 million. Las Vegas-based casino operator Wynn Resorts said that the resort will be built at Ras Al-Khaimah featuring exceptional entertainment and gaming amenities. However, given the advantages of location demographics, wealth, and tourism, long-term earnings potential could be even greater at Wynn Al Marjan Island. Preliminary construction work has begun on Wynn Al Marjan Island set on a man-made and hotel-studded promontory. Yasmeen Lari gets Royal Gold Medal for Architecture for climate resistant housing

The Royal Institute of British Architects has granted Pakistan’s iconic architect Yasmeen Lari the Royal Gold Medal of Charles’s Reign. This award is in recognition of her humanitarian efforts for zero-carbon self-built houses for displaced communities. Pakistan’s first female architect Yasmeen Lari. — Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, "Whilst recognizing the importance of her role in practice, as a symbol of change in Pakistan, it is the work she has undertaken since her retirement in 2000 that the Royal Gold Medal celebrates," said the award's citation. China plans $58b railway project through Pakistan to reduce Western trade dependence

China has proposed its most expensive Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to date with a $58 billion railway system that would connect Pakistan to Western China to further reduce Western trade dependence, says a report. The $57.7 billion plan was reviewed by analysts from the state-owned China Railway First Survey and Design Institute Group Co Ltd, which has determined that despite its hefty price tag the investment is worth it, according to the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post. Pakistan among 20 countries at risk of heavy rainfall

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has warned that the reoccurrence of El Nino phenomenon this June may cause high risk excessive rainfall in 20 countries including Pakistan. In its Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) report, FAO cautioned that the El Nino phenomenon is a key driver of extreme weather events to exacerbate food insecurity in already vulnerable regions. The countries at risk of excessive rainfall include Afghanistan, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Kenya. Other countries include Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Pakistan, Paraguay, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United States and Uzbekistan.
